My Next Adventure!

On June 10th I will be riding 40 miles in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure! Since I've got a half marathon under my belt now, I figured I might as well try my luck on the bike!

I've been involved with this event for the past couple of years as a spectator and designated cupcake baker. Every year I say that I'll be riding the next year... now it's time to make that happen!

Although I'll do just about anything for a free t-shirt and some free post-race food, this event and cause is especially meaningful to me. Brie, one of my best friend's since college was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes during our sophomore year.  I've seen first hand how this disease can affect every aspect of life and the hardships, frustrations and inconveniences that come along with it.  Since Brie's journey with Diabetes began four years ago, I've watched her struggle through the ups and downs and fight to not let the disease define her life.  I could never imagine what it's like to live with diabetes and I credit her for being so incredibly strong.  That's why I am riding on her team this year - "Brie's Buddies" - and am hoping to raise as much money as I possibly can to help fight this disease.  Every dollar raised is one step closer to a cure and normalcy for people like Brie.  I would love for you to join me in this fight for a cure!

You can visit my fundraising page here.  And you can follow my crazy journey to the finish line right here!  I'll also be training for my SECOND (!!) half marathon at the same time so the next 2 months on Molly's Miles are bound to be interesting!  I hope you'll continue to laugh with me (...or at me...) during my next round of adventures!
